I am wondering whether there is a roadmap having the Jetpack version for production workloads.
Existing versions of Jetpack are suitable for development, testing, and benchmarking.
Still, it would be easier to manage a server version of Ubuntu, not the Desktop.
There are several reasons why:
- UI takes significant resources of GPU without reason (mainly VRAM).
- Server OS is easier to manage and much faster than the Desktop version
- Desktop OS has lots of stuff in it, most of which we don’t need for production
So having a lightweight Jetpack with Ubuntu OS (server version) with the selectable installation of libraries will be good as it will speed up the rollout, support, and performance of Edge AI softwares.
