Linker problem with CUDA 6.5 on Mac OS X 10.9.4

I’m installing CUDA 6.5 on Mac OS X for the first time and following the CUDA Getting Started Mac manual. I’ve run the make routines on page 8, and make -C 0_Simple/vectorAdd completes properly. I’ve checked that I can run the vectorAdd program successfully.

However the next make command on the list fails:

I’ve double-checked that the export lines were set up properly. What more do I need to do?
