LPDDR3 support for TK1

Hello all,

I would like to know if LPDDR3 RAM is supported in L4T package for Tegra K1 SoC.

Tegra K1 TRM says that LPDDR3 and DDR3L are supported. But the document “TegraK1_MemoryCharacterization_AppNote_DA07217003v02.pdf” says that “NOTE: LPDDR3 is NOT supported with L4T”. Can anyone please confirm?

Thanks.

LPDDR3 RAM is not supported in L4T package for TK1 SOC.
TK1 chip DRAM interface could support both LPDDR3 and DDR3L.
But on Jetson TK1 platform/L4T, we only qualify the DDR3L memory.
On Shield tablet platform/Android, LPDDR3 is qualified.
The LPDDR3 require a 1.2v power instead of 1.35v for DDR3L.
The current AS3722 PMIC used on JTK1 can’t provide 1.2v for LPDDR3
Shield tablet used another TI PMIC and support battery charge function

Thanks for your reply. So, LPDDR3 is not supported by the AS3722 PMIC chip. If I can use a PMIC chip which can supply 1.2v, can I use LPDDR3 in the L4T package itslef?

Yes, This is not official support, But it should be work.
For the software, It’s just the memory timing config file change.
