Lubuntu/Ubuntu failing to see driver

The title pretty much says it all, after multiple attempts and trying multiple drivers, nvidia just does not recognise them when I run nvidia-settings in terminal.

All that is output is the following:

ERROR: NVIDIA driver is not loaded

The nouveau driver is loading, please blacklist it. Furthermore, you have secure boot enabled in bios so the nvidia driver won’t load if you didn’t enable module signing on Ubuntu install.
