TYping Fn-CTRL-ALT-F2 is supposed to switch to virtual consoles 2 (Fn required on Mac). It is dark but aappears to work. Typing:
makes the computer to reboot. Hre follows the configuration:

nvidia-bug-report.log.gz (76.4 KB)
Running with kernel 3.18.9-200.fc21.x86_64 and nouveau video driver, virtual consoles work fine. This appears to show that the issue (virtual consoles black) is caused by the nvidia driver.
If you open nvidia-settings and click on the page for your monitor, what does it say for “Connection link”? If it says 5.40 Gbps, then this sounds like an issue that should be fixed in a future driver release.
Under “DFP-3 (Apple Color LCD)” menu, in the “Information” Pane, Connection Link is: 4 lanes @ 2.70 Gbps
Another finding is that with the NVIDIA driver, the KDE display brightness does not work - always 100% - but it does work with the nouveau driver. Not sure if it is related to this virtual console issue.
Alright, thanks for checking. That sounds like a different problem, then.
