I just upgraded my dual-Xeon workstation with a Quadro K6000 to Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 and then installed the Nvidia driver version 340.46. Now, when I run Matlab version 2014b, I get the following error message:
/usr/local/MATLAB/R2014b/bin/glnxa64/need_softwareopengl: error while loading shared libraries: libGLU.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
MATLAB is selecting SOFTWARE OPENGL rendering.
- Is libGLU really needed?
- If not, how can I get rid of this error so that Matlab will start using the K6000 for 3D?
- If it is needed, where I should get it for RHEL7?
