I am new to this. I export a polygon geometry to Omniverse from Autodesk Maya, and when I open it in USD Composer, the shape of the geometry gets a strange shape. Any help would be great.

@mayaalias i can only speak from my own experience, which is that triangulating the mesh, staying away from ngons, and stick to triangle/quad meshes will help alleviate some of these issues.

This one is pretty easy to solve. Autodesk tries to maintain parametric shapes on export, but we prefer collapsed mesh. So the way to avoid this issue is to apply an edit mesh, or an edit poly to everything before you export. This ensures the mesh is fully collapsed. Before you export, make sure everything is just standard mesh. No transforms.
