# Mellanox ConnectX-6 Overheating on Jetson AGX Orin - Active cooling required?

Hello,

**Setup:**

- Jetson AGX Orin Developer Kit
- Mellanox ConnectX-6 Lx Dual-Port 25GbE
- The CX6 is connected to the Jetson via PCIe.

**Issue:** After powering on the Jetson, the system reboots after approximately 3–4 minutes. On investigation, noticed the ConnectX-6 Lx card reaches temperatures around 120°C, which seems to trigger the reboot.

The CX6 has a passive heatsink installed.  
Should we consider adding active cooling (e.g., a fan) for this card?

Would suggest having additional thermal solution/cooling system for the card.
