Mellanox SB7700 console connection text corruption

Hello, I have confirmed that the warning light on the status light is blinking green while using Mellanox’s SB7700.

I tried to access the console to check the problem, but the letters are broken.

I changed all the settings of Putty (UTP-8, etc.), but the problem is not solved.

There may be a problem with the RS232 cable, so if I use a different RS232 cable, the letters are broken in the same way.

Is this a problem with the switch?

I would appreciate it if you could tell me how to solve it.

Hi

  1. Did you set the terminal baud rate to 115200?
  2. Try to use the console cable with another Nvidia switch, does it work with no issue?
If so? try to power cycle the SB7700, check if it solves the issue.

Thanks.

Yes, all the settings for connecting to the console are set identically to the settings in the manual.

When comparing it with the SB7700 that is currently operating normally in our company, it does not seem to be a problem with the cable or speed.

In case there is a hardware problem, I tried replacing the memory and OS Disk in the SB7700 that is operating normally, but the letters are still broken.

Is there a possibility that this problem is due to a problem with the flash memory?

It sounds like you need to RMA the switch if you have a valid warranty contract.
Thanks.
