Hi everyone! We have a Gigabyte G292-Z20 server, with an AMD EPYC 7543P processor and 8 NVIDIA RTX 3080 v2 LHR GPUs. The operating system is Ubuntu 20.04 and will, at some point, be upgraded to 22.04.
My question is, could we replace one of the 3080s with an A100 80GB, or should we expect any issues with that? The 40GB variant of the A100 is in the server’s QVL, so I’m optimistic about the 80GB card, however the mixed configuration worries me, given that the cards are supported by different driver packages (datacenter vs GeForce).
Of course there’s always the alternative of getting a second server for the A100, but that’s something we don’t want to do just yet.
