MOCN/MORAN Distributed and RAN Sharring Support in Aerial 6G

I am in the process of submitting RFI for one the Telco in Europe. I come across for the MOCN/MORAN Distributed suppoprt in Aerial 6G. Please let let me know If supports If Yes also point out some related documents .

Hi @haseem,

First, please be aware that Aerial CUDA Accelerated RAN provides an L1 stack (+ L2 MAC scheduling acceleration) of the gNB system, but your question is at the system level. You might need L2+, compute resource orchestration platforms, OAM, OSS/BSS, etc., and you are responsible for designing and managing all components to enable these technologies.
Based on that, let me answer your question from my point of view.

From the MOCN perspective, it should be a higher-layer protocol stack function than L1. It is not relevant for Aerial.
From the MORAN perspective, there should be several options to enable different levels of sharing compute resources for Aerial:

  1. Sharing a single system that is composed of multiple GPU servers
  2. Sharing a single server installed with multiple GPUs
  3. Sharing a single GPU using MIG
  4. Sharing a single L1 instance with multiple L2 instances

1-3 are similar approaches that cloud service providers offer. 4 is an L1-specific feature.
We haven’t proven MORAN using our L1 stack. I recommend starting a PoC using our L1 as a starting point. MORAN is not a simple and easy solution, but it should be variable for the industry. I hope you get good results.
