More sample apps for game engines

Hi, it would be a fair assumption that something like 90-99% of XR developers today rely on game engines like Unity and Unreal. We have over the last few weeks had the experience of making our own demo apps trying out both Unreal Engine and Unity and then use the applications with Steam VR to run CloudXR. Both apps have had severe limitations. In Unreal we have the transparency issue (everything is semi-transparent), and in Unity we cannot seem to be able to use DirectX12.

2 years after the announcement of CloudXR I would have imagined that you have worked with your partners Unity and Unreal (Epic Games) to produce a couple of boiler-plate demos where things should work pretty smoothly and you can do ray-tracing and have objects appear solid.

If you haven’t made any such example apps built with much used game engines, or you haven’t started making them, well it is never too late. Such demo-apps could be seen as a highly useful extension of the documentation of CloudXR.

Thanks for the feedback Jan-erik, “If you haven’t made any such example apps built with much used game engines, or you haven’t started making them, well it is never too late. Such demo-apps could be seen as a highly useful extension of the documentation of CloudXR.”
