Most wanted features/functionality?

Hi Dustin,

Wondering if Nvidia might be interested in running a pool to get feedback on most wanted features/functionality developers on this forum would like to see coming to Xavier.

Personally, I’m interested in the following:

  1. Modified boot loader with menu selection for multiple kernel/devtree cominations where both kernel and tree files can be read from eMMC rootfs (and possibly other filesystems). Also removing encryption or at least making it optional.
  2. DeepStream SDK release for both Xavier and TX2, so we can compare apples to apples.
  3. Isaac SDK release.
  4. Stable release of JetPack which could be considered production (i.e. no more JetPack releases for awhile after that). Updates to CUDA, cuDNN and other products can be released in form of package updates, and will not require complete re-flash.

Hi albertr, thanks for your suggestions. If others have feedback to add, feel free to post them here.

DeepStream 3.0 for Jetson (Xavier/TX2) will be released by the end of the year.

The next version of JetPack will be production release for Xavier + TX2. We will post an announcement about the roadmap. In the future we are looking to migrate towards package-based delivery, but for the time being updates will require reflashing with JetPack. JetPack updates virtually always include modifications to L4T kernel.
