Hello everyone.

I’m trying to boot by USB memory.
But inserting USB memory, Nano is hanging out.

MUF-256ABAPC
I’m using this one. it maybe after formatting ext4 type to boot at linux.

any solutions?

Please always share the log.

Attaching a photo about your usb drive does not help much…
It is not possible for us to tell what is going on by a photo of Samsung usb memory…

how can i get log in this case?
like “dmesg --fellow” ?

I already taught you in previous thread. That is why you need UART console.

Nano_Mouse_00.txt (915 Bytes)
this is log. insert usb, remove and insert again.

Please do following the share the full log.

  1. Connect the usb drive

  2. Wait for 5 second

  3. Connect mouse, keyboard and dump dmesg again

Nano_Mouse_01.txt (23.8 KB)
Nano_Mouse_02.txt (60.6 KB)
Sorry to late. i was on vacation.
…02.txt is dmesg on Nano.
stdj [386.251] is keyboard typed.

I am wondering by what method is it you see a delay? For example, in a purely text mode console, versus a console in the GUI? I ask because I see a problem with the monitor or the monitor’s cable type at the moment before memory connect:

Nano login: [ 39.685011] edid invalid
[ 178.051402] scsi 0:0:0:0: Direct-Access Samsung Flash Drive FIT 1100 PQ: 0 ANSI: 6

For a pure console without GUI this would not matter, but if a GUI is running, then it might be related. I am thinking that maybe one of the components of the HDMI interface (using i2c and power rails) could in some rare instance interfere with USB. Not really sure, but it is worth asking about.

Also, is keyboard sensitivity to delay occurring under serial console? I’m interested in knowing how many different ways keyboard input might be delayed at the point of the USB memory connect.

EDIT: Also, there are now filesystem errors on the USB memory, so this might cause problems with the system trying to recover it:

I’m using HDMI cable and wireless keyboard with touchpad(Logitech K400+).
When I connect USB memory, both HID(key input at text mode console and mouse point at GUI) is delaying so slowly. sometimes it works.

I have 4 Samsung memories and USB SSD. Every Samsung memories with Ext4 happen this situation. But USB SSD with Ext4 have no problem.

Emm… when i make bootfromUSB, I input memory size not full size(240000 of 244…). it might be a prolem?? → the result was same.

When I change wired keyboard from wireless keyboard, it works without any problem.
It was resolved, now. It was some kind of compatible problem with Wireless USB keyboard and USB memory of several brands.
Thanks for your supporting.
