Multiple GPUs in one computer OR One GPU per computer

Lets say I want to have a curved wall for real-time simulation using 6 projectors (using warping and blending but not stereo). Should I use one computer with multiple GPUs for all channels or do I benefit from using one computer per channel?

I guess using one computer with multiple GPUs would simplify keeping the simulation in sync across the channels, but on the other hand that may lead to being CPU limited. Are there other factors to consider? In short, what are the benefits and drawbacks of each setup?

Do I still need a Quadro Sync II card if I use a single computer with multiple GPU setup?

Hi bjorn,

Yes, you will need to have a Quadro Sync II card in a single computer with multiple GPU.

For your first question it depends on your software and whether or not it natively supports multply GPUs in a single computer. You can use MOSAIC but may result in a performance hit.
