My DGX was running models for a few days and now refuses to boot. I cannot SSH into the unit, and connecting a monitor via HDMI results in a “No Signal” message.
When I press the power button, sometimes the fans spin up, but nothing else happens and I can’t even trigger a shutdown via the button. Other times, the power button doesn’t respond at all. Does this sound like a known hardware or power supply issue? Any tips on how to reset or diagnose this would be great. Thanks!
Please try this and let me know what you see.
- Unplug the Spark
- Plug in monitor via HDMI or USB-C
- Plug in power cable, do not press the power button, the Spark should automatically boot
- See if NVIDIA logo appears on screen, this will be useful to know if we need to access BIOS
- If anything else appears on monitor
I tried those steps as you suggested, but unfortunately, the issue persists. The fans are running now, but the monitor still displays “No Signal.” I’ve left it running for a few minutes to see if it would eventually boot, but nothing has changed.
Just to confirm, nothing appears on the monitor during boot? Have you tried repeatedly pressing the “Del” key while booting?
nothing appeared except “no signal”. should i attach a keyboard for this test?
Yes, please try doing so first and see if you can access the UEFI menu
I tried hitting the Del key multiple times, but the monitor remains with “no signal”. Additionally, the fans didn’t even start this time.
First try a different monitor and cable.
If you still don’t get anything than you should open a case and request RMA, the description of your symptoms seems to be it is not really booting at all.
FWIW, I had same problem on MSI edgeXpert right out of the box. Fix was to use a usbc→HDMI toggle.
