Need help --> install on Linux 12.04.2

Hello everybody,

I’m new in here, so if I’m writing the wrong place, please forgive me.

I’m building a Linux computer for use with BOINC. I have setup a new computer, installed Linux 12.04.2 and everything is running as it is suppose to do, but, I’m having trouble installing the driver that will make the graphic card run in BOINC. The card is a MSI GeForce GT610 2Gb. I found the driver, I think, here: But I would like to download and install it from the Linux computer. So what I’m looking for is an “apt-get install etc. etc. etc.”

Please help me, and sorry for the newbie question ;)

Have a nice weekend, where ever you are ;)

Kind Regards,

Hello friends,

System: Ubuntu Linux Server 12.04.2
Issue: Graphic card driver / to make GPU work in BOINC

Needs “apt-get” command or repository if it works.
Needs help to clean up the mess I made. Please look beneath

Still trying to install a driver that will make the MSI GeForce gt610 2Gb, work with BOINC.
The computer is a Ubuntu Linux Server 12.04.2 and I just tried this:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-x-swat/x-updates
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install nvidia-current

and a “FAIL” command appeared during boot-up! So now I think I f… it up. The letters also looks funny big now.

Please help me o)

Kind Regards,

This is the fail command i’m getting now:
Load fallback graphic devices [Fail]

I’ve tried this as well:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-x-swat/x-updates
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

Any suggestions?

Kind Regards,

I tried this last thing, and it went so much better, because of the right 32bit, yes, but now the letters on the screen is normal!

sudo chmod 0755 *.run
sudo ./

This helped.

But still, its not accepted by BOINC. So nothing new here o)

Well, I tried, if you have an idea, please dont hesitate to tell me ;)
