Need to restart my SCREEN to see the login screen (RTX-4070)

I installed Ubuntu 24.04. The Nouveau drivers work fine. When I switched to nvidia-535, I got this behavior:
When I power on the computer. I see the GRUB screen and then the screen goes blank (no cursor, no nothing).

Hitting alt-ctrl-F5 shows the textual login screen fine. Hitting alt-ctrl-F1 will sometimes show the graphical login screen (something it takes a few tries).

After playing with this for a few hours I realized that when I see this blank screen, if I power off and power on the screen - the GUI appears as expected. I want to stress out that it doesn’t show “no-signal” at any point!

Something similar was happening to me and I typed in sudo prime-select nvidia and that fixed the problem(I think). Though now with the updated distro Im on, I cant even get an outcome from the power off and power on thing.

Just to update - for unknown reasons, the problem seems to happen much less frequently.
My best guess is a bad cable/bad cable connection.
