# No nvv4l2h264enc/nvv4l2h265enc - after upgrade to JetPack 6.0 / DS 6.4 with SDK manager

**• Hardware Platform (Jetson / GPU)**  
Jetson Orin Nano  
**• DeepStream Version**  
6.4  
**• JetPack Version (valid for Jetson only)**  
6.0  
**• TensorRT Version**  
**• NVIDIA GPU Driver Version (valid for GPU only)**  
**• Issue Type( questions, new requirements, bugs)**  
Missing encoders after upgrade to DS 6.4 using SDK Manager  
**• How to reproduce the issue ? (This is for bugs. Including which sample app is using, the configuration files content, the command line used and other details for reproducing)**  
I just upgraded a Jetson Orin to Jetpack 6.0 / DS 6.4 using the SDK Manager - installed all components, and there were no errors reported during the process. [until after reboot](https://forums.developer.nvidia.com/t/nvargus-daemon-crashed-with-sigsegv-after-upgrade-to-jetpack-6-0-ds-6-4-with-sdk-manager/279556/1)

All the DeepStream folders appear to be there… I’m able to run many of the examples (that don’t use an encoder)

Running

```auto
$ gst-inspect-1.0 nvv4l2h264enc

```

I get

```bash
No such element or plugin 'nvv4l2h264enc'

```

I’ve tried clearing the cache… no help. Not sure what I’m I’m doing wrong

I’ve tried downloading the Debian package and doing a reinstall - still missing,

So I tried downloading the SD card image from [https://developer.nvidia.com/embedded/jetpack](https://developer.nvidia.com/embedded/jetpack)… and installed the Debian package… and same issue, there are no encoder plugins??

I did a quick check of most of the plugins listed in `deepstream_config.h` and the `nvarguscamerasrc` plugin is missing for me as well?

There is no hardware encoder in Orin Nao, please use software encoder `x264enc ` instead, there is a page description this topic: [Software Encode in Orin Nano — Jetson Linux Developer Guide documentation (nvidia.com)](https://docs.nvidia.com/jetson/archives/r35.3.1/DeveloperGuide/text/SD/Multimedia/SoftwareEncodeInOrinNano.html).
