Not a valid hostname, exiting. Valid license hosts are:&quot

Hello,

I am trying to install PGI accelerator on Windows. I get a License Manager Problem: Failed to checkout a license.

When I check the license server logs I see the following:

18:58:30 (lmgrd) “user-PC”: Not a valid server hostname, exiting.
18:58:30 (lmgrd) Valid license server system hosts are: “ANY”
18:58:30 (lmgrd) Using license file “C:\Program Files\PGI\license.dat”

The license .dat file does say ANY ANY for the Server. This is the license I get when I download it through my account on the pgrgroup.com site.

Any help on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated.

Daniel,

Sorry for the confusion. Trial licenses and temp licenses do not use the license
service, and often confuse it. You correctly stored the file, as Administrator, as
C:\Program Files\PGI\license.dat. Now go to
Control Panel->Admin Tools-> Services and make sure
the PGI service is STOPPED.

If you have a permanent license you store the same, and go to
Control Panel->Admin Tools-> Services and START the PGI service
if not running. If STARTed already, STOP and START it so the
new license file is read by the license software.

regards,
dave
