Not able to install jetpack 3.0 on elementary os

I have elementary os freya which is based off of ubuntu 14.04. But I am not able to install jetpack 3.2 on it.

$ lsb_release -a
No LSB modules are available.
Distributor ID: elementary OS
Description: elementary OS Freya
Release: 0.3.2
Codename: freya

But when I try to run the .run file, I get the error that Jetpack must be run on a Ubuntu platform, do I have to switch back to ubuntu?

Yes, an Ubuntu host PC is required to run the JetPack installer.
