Hi,

I need buy a notebook for work CUDA. However, I do not know what GPU I have buy:

1 - Nvidia - Quadro
2 - Nvidia - Geforce.

I need memory in GPU, because I work with cusparse and cublas (large matrix and resolution of the linear systems).

Keep in mind that a laptop GPU will usualy have less memory than a desktop GPU, so if you are handling really large data sets you will better off using a desktop.

Google is your friend!

You don’t specify what your memory needs are… 1GB, 2GB, 4GB? I won’t go into choices for 1GB or 2GB VRAM as it is incredibly easy to find laptops with that amount of video RAM on NVIDIA GT6xxM or GT 7xxM chipsets.

If you’re looking into 4GB VRAM, look into Acer V3-771G-6485 – http://www.adorama.com/ACV3771G6485.html, Acer V3-771G-6443 – http://www.bestbuy.com/site/-/1231023.p, or Acer V3-771G-6814 – http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00D3F9HT4. All of them are 17.3" 1600x900 laptops w/ 4GB VRAM on the NVDIA GeForce GT 730M GPU with a Core i5-3230M processor. Buying through Best Buy is useful if you’d like to return it in case you don’t like it – they offer a 15 day return policy.

I’d be surprised if there are any less expensive laptops that offer 4GB VRAM NVIDIA cards – there certainly are many more expensive ones, mostly targeted at gamers.

If you’re willing to spend a bit more, there is also an Acer V3-772G-9829, 17.3" 1080p screen, with 4GB VRAM NVIDIA GT750m and the latest Haswell Intel Core i7-4702MQ processor and a GT750m GPU. It has decent first reviews on Amazon:

It is slightly cheaper here:
