NSight installation fails on Visual Studio 2015 DirectX installation

I am trying to install NSight onto Visual Studio 2015 Pro (standalone machine without internet connectivity). Each time I try to install, it fails installing DirectX redistributables saying the installation package was corrupt. I have re-downloaded the installer multiple times, trying the installation on a build on a laptop with internet connectivity successfully, but fails on the machine without.

Does anyone know if NSight or Visual Studio 2015 require internet connectivity to use? Or any idea of why this could be happening? I am at a loss.

I also installed VS2012 and the installation fails as well. 2015 was Uninstaller first. I also I uninstalled all nvidia drivers and Cuda libraries and reinstalled from latest. Still NSight will not install. Also tried 5.0 NSight and still would not work.

Hi Raivyn,

Please try this:

  • download DirectX redistribution installment from MSFT websit
  • install it, you will see the failure also I believe
  • check the installment log of DirectX redistribution, it might be here: c:\Windows\Logs\DirectX.log, c:\Windows\Logs\DXError.log
  • go through the log, you might need to remove some file or installment which defeat the installment

Thanks
