NSight menu not showing in VS2010

I have both VS2008 and VS2010 installed. 2008 is in the default location and the NSight menu shows.

VS2010 is installed on a different partition, and the NSight menu does not show. NSight installation said it was installing NSight for VS2010.

Does NSight require the default C partition installation for VS?

Is there any way I can get this to work w/o reinstalling VS2010 on the C partition?

I have NSight v3.0 installed.

Hi robosmith,

Can you see if you have any files in <VS 2010 installation>\Common7\IDE\Extensions\NVIDIA\Nsight Visual Studio Edition\3.0 ?
If so, can you save those files and send it to me?

As a workaround, please create or make sure the following shortcuts are in that folder:

extension.vsixmanifest
Nvda.Vsip.Debugger.Device.dll.pkgdef
Nvda.Vsip.Net.dll.pkgdef

They should point to the files in: \Host\Common

Let me know if that works for you.

The only contents of
E:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 10.0\Common7\IDE\Extensions\NVIDIA

is the “CUDA Wizards” folder.

After creating the shortcuts, the NSight menu item is displayed.

Thanks for your solution.

Hi robosmith,

We tried reproducing the problem but were not successful.
Is there something different in your setup? Is your E:\ drive a local (separate physical) disk, or a partition from the same disk or a network mapped drive?

Anything that can help us figure out how to reproduce or fix the problem?

Thank you

E is a separate partition on the same local disk.

Not sure what else I can provide.
