The same problem, the same laptop - Gentoo 64bit, 3.10.7-gentoo, nvidia-drivers 331.13

Please try the

Option "UseDisplayDevice" "none"

option suggested in the README, or install 331.13 and try the new

Option "AllowEmptyInitialConfiguration"

option that was added recently.

Hi Aaron,

It helped - I’ve added Option “AllowEmptyInitialConfiguration” to xorg.conf, and modified ~/.xinitrc to to

xrandr --setprovideroutputsource 0x46 0x2b4
xrandr --output LVDS-0 --off
xrandr --auto
exec startxfce4

and now it works. Thank you very much!

Excellent, I’m glad to hear it’s working!
