NVIDIA 440 installed but not loaded - Ryzen 5 GTX 1650 Ubuntu 20.04

Acer Nitro 5 w/ Ryzen 5 and GTX 1650. Everything works fine in Win10.

tried installing the 5.116 kernel and updating the 10-amdgpu.conf entries as suggested in another thread but no help.

Okay, I sorted this out with help from this lengthy thread:

I had to upgrade my kernel to 5.7.6 before I could get past hanging at boot - probably to get support for the Ryzen 5 APU.

Can you make a video to show how to fix it?
