I am using Ubuntu 14.04 LTS x64, GeForce GTX960, nvidia-346 driver and CUDA 7 toolkit. I want to make 3 suggestions.
Firstly, I am using Intel integrated graphics for my monitor display and Nvidia graphics for CUDA because when running both on Nvidia, I experience a significant GUI slow down when dragging some objects in some applications. Please facilitate for this case of use. Thanks!
Secondly, when I am using Intel integrated graphics for my monitor display, I cannot open nvidia-settings control panel, it says “You do not appear to be using the NVIDIA X driver”, so I cannot control the fan speed, nor see GPU temperature. Please fix this, make it more flexible. There are people who need to open the panel even not using NVIDIA X driver for display. OK?
Thirdly, fan speed manual control slider is not enabled by default in nvidia-settings panel. I have to set some cool bit 004 somewhere. Why make things so troublesome? Since you have implemented these features, why not expose everything?
