Switching second display to 60GHz (with 144 on first) resolved power issues on my configuration. Hope it helps someone.

UPD. It works good with 144Ghz/120Ghz too. Nvidia, please fix it.

I have the same problem, with a RTX 3080 Founders Edition.

A fix for me is to disable GSYNC in nvidia-settings. After that, the performance level drops to lowest as it should, on two 1440p monitors, both on 144Hz.

Still, a fix for this would be much appreciated, as I still have to compromise the cards functionality, in order to avoid noise, heat, and high power consumption.

Im looking to limit my power consumption & temp cut off threshold on my MXM P1000 4GB card. Does anyone have any suggestions? running Ubuntu 20.04 and Nvidia-sim PL does not function in CLI mode either ;'(
