I would like to know. What is the best option to install Nvidia Drivers on Ubuntu, Im running Ai on GPU.
I know thah i have few option.
- ubuntu-drivers autoinstall
- Download Run File from Nvidia
- Add PPA repository
Rule of thumb: if you don’t know when to use the runfile installers, don’t use them.
Rather use autoinstall or the Software&Updates application.
It’s important that when installing cuda, you don’t install the full “cuda” metapackage which would overwrite your already installed driver but only “cuda-toolkit”. Please check the cuda installation manual for the available metapackages.
