NVIDIA Jetson Nano B01 CAM0 Interface plastic snapped. Am I eligible for replacement?

Hi, my goal is to refund the NVIDIA Jetson Nano B01, if possible. If not, fair play. I will still buy NVIDIA Jetson products, regardless of if this covers under the Return policy. I see my future with AI and embedded systems.

We bought 2 pcs NVIDIA Jetson Nano B01 through Amazon.com, one for myself and one for a friend to learn AI with embedded systems. The device’s No. 2 CAM0 interface plastic snapped when I tried to install the camera for the first time.

In my opinion, the device’s No. 2 CAM0 interface is too fragile. But, thankfully, the plastic still pinch the cable. So, the FPC cable do not wiggle around.

=== TL:DR, my justification that it was probably defective from the start.

I used the device No. 1 for the past few days, installing the camera on both CAM0 and CAM1 interface. And when my friend wanted to try. At first, I installed the camera on device No. 2 CAM1 interface. But because the Autofocus do not work (device No. 2 CAM1 interface register as /dev/video0 if there is no other camera). I turned off the device No. 2 and move the camera to CAM0 interface. That’s when the device No. 2’s CAM0 interface snapped.

Hi, you can try RMA for it. https://developer.nvidia.com/embedded/faq#rma-process

Hi, I talked to customer care agent and was told that RMA is not covered in Indonesia.

You will want to check with the supplier of the Jetson in that case. Not being able to RMA directly to NVIDIA does not mean you cannot RMA with whoever you purchased from.

I agree, the flex cable sockets on the Nano devkits are very easily damaged, with the retaining clips on the outer edges all too easily snapped. Sure, if you do not lose the central large wedge/ffc clamp, they continue to be usable, but cable installation becomes a pain.

Amazon.com asked to ship and pay first. Then, Amazon.com will refund up to $20. The shipping cost using UPS is $150. State-owned shipper costs $20. In the end, I decided to keep the device as it is still usable.
