Nvidia Optix Jetson Drivers

One thing is that optix it comes with gpu drivers since Optix version 7, but Nvidia not official support it on l4t drivers that come in jetpack. This is a issue that is open from 2020 and nvidia skip it each open issue in forum…
To run optix you have to install the “unnofficial way drivers” to get libnvoptix.so.1 for example:

Another thing is that, nvidia docker is bugged in some way with optix. You have to pass cuda capabilities. Unable to use NVidia OptiX. libnvoptix.so.1 is missing · Issue #187 · NVIDIA/nvidia-container-toolkit · GitHub

At this moment, run genesis with raytracing is still headache but it works…

i hope that nvidia added it finally on next jetpack version

I will forward this request to internal team to review if have chance to include it at future release. Thanks

yes, @dusty_nv we need this for genesis, for digits and for thor…
It is working if you copy optix from another aarch drivers

3dgrut running on jetson: It fails due optix not match at all with 540.4.0 from l4t. I can do things, but I need help from people who make jetpacks and drivers.

Hi,
Optix is not supported on Jetpack 6. We will evaluate this for future release. Would suggest check if there is another substitute for Optix.

Thanks, I hope that in the future can be used. It opens new possibilites thanks that optix is very efficient, and new trends about simulated 3d gaussian splatting with optix or vulkanRT
