Nvidia RTX 4090 not displaying graphics (version 530.30.02 for Linux-x86_64) 'Control display is undefined'

Hi,

Sorry about this simple question - I am new to Linux and Nvidia.

After reinstalling my Nvidia driver (version 530.30.02 for Linux-x86_64), I am experiencing issues getting the card to display graphics. The error message I get is “the control display is undefined” (output of nvidia-settings and nvidia-smi attached below).

Output of sudo lshw -c video is attached below as well as the DISPLAY variable (:0). I am unsure if there is a mismatch between the DISPLAY variable and the desired hardware video controller.

I also have seen some information regarding ‘xorg’ processes, and none of these are running on my GPU.

Please run nvidia-bug-report.sh as root and attach the resulting nvidia-bug-report.log.gz file to your post.
