I’m using driver 334.21 with a GTX480 and every few hours I encounter these freezes which I must manually reboot from. It usually occurs when I’m playing games with steam such as Kerbal or Don’t Starve.

Which game you are playing? what the issue reproduction rate ? What desktop environment you are running? Any earlier driver help to resolve your issue? Please provide reproduction steps in detail (step-by-step) ?
I am having the same issue. This seems to happen when I am doing anything that requires my graphics card (including Chromium when using GPU-acceleration).

- Ubuntu Gnome 14.04
- Nvidia GeForce GTS 250
- NVIDIA Proprietary (tested) driver version 331.38
- Intel i7 930
As a side note: I am still able to move the mouse pointer (sometimes it also freezes) when everything else freezes.
