Occassional corrupt graphics on startup

Hi does anyone know what causes this? It only happens very occasionally, but sometimes the graphics are corrupted initially on startup. I’ve noticed this with at least the last two driver versions 331.xx and 319.xx. I boot with a standard vga console into xdm.

This usually never shows up in my syslog, but it did the last time it happened.

You haven’t provided details what “graphics are corrupted initially on startup” means, but if it is like in this thread [url]Recent drivers cause applications to hang, not start at all or compilation failures - Linux - NVIDIA Developer Forums
have you also tried the latest 331.38 driver? It fixed it for the issue described in above link.

Everything. From the xdm login screen, windows, fonts, icons, everything is corrupted. Not related to any specific applications running.

Yeah that’s what I’m using right now.
