OFED 4.0-2.0.0.1 SRP target ?

HI All,

I’ve just installed a latest OFED (MLNX_OFED_LINUX-4.0-2.0.0.1-rhel7.3-x86_64) onto Centos 7

Everything looks good except all the other hosts on the infiniband network can see my new Linux server as an SRP target.

This never used to be the case, has something changes with the default install ?

[root@enc03-blade01 ~]# ibstat CA 'mlx4_0' CA type: MT4099 Number of ports: 2 Firmware version: 2.33.5220 Hardware version: 0

HI,

I’ve only used version " MLNX_OFED_LINUX-3.2-2.0.0.0" on Centos 7 before

So it’s the SRP target something new in Version 4 ?

I did see something for iSER target in V4, is there a way to disable this on the initiator servers ?

Regards, Daniel

OK The issue is as below:

  • Host A (Solaris SRP target)
  • Host B (Centos7 client OFED3)

ibsrpdm -c only shows Host A as available when run from Host B (This is what I’m expecting)

Now I’ve added a new Host

  • Host C (Centos7 client OFED4)

ibsrpdm -c shows Host A and Host C as available when run from Host B ( I"m not expecting Host C to show as a target)

Regards, Daniel

Hi Daniel,

Which version of MLNX-OFED driver your used before upgrading?

In general please see the latest driver release notes with additional information:

Thank you,

Hi!

If you use CentOS 7.x and want to use SRP target, you must use inbox driver.

If you install Mellanox OFED then you just only use iSER only.

I’m heard this problem from another community user.
