Omniverse Create crashing on launch

Hi,

Create 2022.3.3 has been crashing on launch for the last few days. Have tried uninstalling using the cleanup tool and reinstalling but still the application crashes.

The log file is also attached

Thank you for posting. We have your logs and will look at the issues. Can you make sure you are running the latest drivers. Also, if it is consistently crashing, can you capture a video of it crashing.

Yes currently running the latest studio driver(528.49). I had also tried downgrading the game ready driver to recommended version.

I have started the application from the omni.create batch file.
At 6:36 the extension shutdown begins and then at 9:34 startup again happens followed by crash.

Thank you for this excellent video. It should really help us. I will pass it on to the engineers straight away. It is running very very slowly on startup. It should only take about 20 seconds. So something seems to be blocking it.

I see something of concern in your logs straight away. Your windows username has 2 periods in it !! That has been flagged before as an issue. I am surprised that windows even allows that. Most windows usernames are a short continuous string of characters. I know this sounds strange but I want you to create a new windows username profile with just a simple first name, and then reinstall OV and Create and try that. Worth a shot.

Has this always been a problem, or is this NEW with the new version of Create installed ? Have you tried the old version of Create ? Can you install “View” as well and try that ?

I am working on an enterprise machine because of which changing the username is not possible.

This issue started happening around 2 weeks back. Before that all the apps(including code, create, view) worked normally.

Have you tried the old version of Create ?

I have also installed Create 2022.3.1 but crashes the same way on launch.

Can you install “View” as well and try that ?

Tried installing 2022.3.5, but the installation never completes. It gets stuck at Installing omni.view.warmup.bat

Isaac Sim - Works but crashes when an extension is opened in VS Code

I think based on all of this, you need to contact your system admin and ask them about anti-virus, firewalls, vpns, proxies etc. All of this should be working fine. Maybe the company IT has upgraded or changed something that is affecting all of this ov software, or they have installed a new update on your machine. For one software not to work, ok. But for all of that, I think it could be anti-virus. Can you try at home on a personal machine ? Is there another work machine you can try to rule out a global issue vs a local machine issue ?

Thanks Richard for pointing in the right direction. It was indeed an issue due to a new update. This has been fixed by the company IT team.

Ah great ! So glad I could help. For my records can you be more specific ? Was it a firewall update or virus protection update ? etc

It was due to an application called Digital Guardian that was blocking kit.exe and some urls including the s3 ones.
