One monitor in dual setup suddenly switched off

Hello there:

I was working on my stuff, the screen blocked itself due to inactivity and when I logged in again, only the screen on the left is active.
I’m using XFCE as DE and it is not detected from its display settings.
In Nvidia X Server Settings there is an entry for the screen in the menu but I cannot enable it for some reason.

Please delete /etc/X11/xorg.conf
If that doesn’t help, please try swapping cables as the asus monitor seems to be detected over and over again.
