Hello there,
(my laptop has rtx 2060 and intel gpu)
When I first installed Manjaro there were nouveau drivers. I deleted it due to both high power consumption and annoying sound and heating problems. Instead, I installed nvidia’s own drivers from the panel. This time the power consumption was back to normal but my external screen was a bit lagging and there was screen flickering. I open Nvidia X settings and
there is some missing settings. I tried to open it from terminal;
ERROR: nvidia-settings could not find the registry key file or the X server is not accessible. This file should have been installed along with this driver at /usr/share/nvidia/nvidia-application-profiles-key-documentation. The application profiles will continue to work, but values cannot be prepopulated or validated, and will not be listed in the help text. Please see the README for possible values and descriptions."
After that I implemented the solution from this article;
https://wiki.manjaro.org/index.php/Simple_fix_for_screen_tearing_-_nVidia
Now my external display lagging problem has been resolved. In terms of performance, the computer is in good condition, but the laptop screen remained black.
(you can see AOC is my external monitor and X screen 0 is laptop screen)
and sometimes it freeze and i can’t do anything. I can’t get tty either
Here is some outputs;
