Open kernel driver has errors on my ubuntu 23/nvidia rtx 3050/intel computer

the proprietary closed kernel version works fine, no errors that i can see.

several months ago though, it had critical errors (535) that i could not use the gpu and my os couldnt boot on ubuntu 20+ until now it would only work on ubuntu 18/470 drivers. some stupid users on ubuntu forums claimed it was nvidia’s fault i do not know who fixed the error.

would nvidia need to build a driver for WebGPU API or does WebGPU develop their API for the nvidia driver?

Previously, the nvidia-open driver per default only worked on enterprise gpus unless kernel/module parameter nvidia.NVreg_OpenRmEnableUnsupportedGpus=1
was set. AFAIK, now the nvidia-open driver works without that parameter on consumer gpus.
