Does the Orin Nano support RS232&RS485 interfaces via it’s USART interface?
I am aware that it supports the CAN communication protocol but want to explore some other options.

Yes, they are supported.
Is there a benefit to using them over the CAN bus interface?
The communication from different interfaces is depending on your use case.
There’re 2 CAN interfaces from AGX Orin by default.
You don’t need to use them through UART.
