I know it is an imprecise title, and I apologize – but the crashes are not deterministic. They often happen with the display idle (various jobs [vms, etc.] are running, but the screens are locked and/or in power save), but can also happen during normal usage. Typically at least once a day with no real trigger I can determine.
Plasmashell can be restarted (kstart5 plasmashell) and all is fine until the next time. Sending the report here since the stack traces are consistently in libnvidia-glcore.so. This has occurred over the last several months, so several kernel / driver versions.
