Parallel Nsight and WPF hardware acceleration disabling

Hello, to setup local debugging, step 7 states that I must “D3D acceleration for WPF (applies to local debugging only).” What exactly is this feature for?

Is it true that if you disable this feature then any current-generation games that you play on the same computer will be unable to use it (thus you have to restart computer after re-enabling it) or is unrelated?

If so that seems like quite a hassle.
