pgf 9.0.3 installation on Fedora 11

Hi! mat
I’m trying to install pgf 9.0.3 workstation on my fedora 11.

First, glibc version is different. Is it ok to use the pgf?

and then, I make a path to PGI

[choingjoo@ARL-HUFS pgi]# setenv PGI /opt/pgi
[choingjoo@ARL-HUFS pgi]# set path=(/opt/pgi/linux86-64/9.0/bin $path)
[choingjoo@ARL-HUFS pgi]# setenv MANPATH “$MANPATH”:/opt/pgi/linux86-64/9.0/man
MANPATH: Undefined variable.
[choingjoo@ARL-HUFS pgi]# setenv LM_LICENSE_FILE “$LM_LICENSE_FILE”:/opt/pgi/license.dat
LM_LICENSE_FILE: Undefined variable.

There are some error message

[choingjoo@ARL-HUFS pgi]# touch x.f
[choingjoo@ARL-HUFS pgi]# pgf77 -V -c x.f

What should I do for figure it out?

Hi choingju,

First, glibc version is different. Is it ok to use the pgf?

It should be ok.

PGF90-W-0006-Input file empty (x.f)
PGC-W-0006-Empty translation unit (x.c)

Warning #6 just means that the file you’re compiling is empty.

Thank you. Mat

So what can I do for fixing the warning #6 message?
Is it caused any problem to use pgf??

choingjoo

Hi choingjoo,

The is is nothing wrong with pgf. The compiler is just giving you a warning that the file you’re compiling does not contain any code and hence there is nothing to compile. When you compile a file with source code in it, then the warning will go away.
