Possible to have eMMC memory on carrier board as boot memory

The Thor module is lacking internal eMMC memory and this is a difference compared to AGX Orin. When designing a custom carrier board for the Thor module is it then possible to have a eMMC on the carrier board and boot from?

If possible is it then also possible to flash that memory with Nvidia flashing tools as is possible for AGX Orin?

Please refer to Jetson T5000 data sheet. eMMC is not supported.
