Since a couple of month ago I noticed that my system power consumption was higher than normal, looking into it I found that the PowerMizer performance Level is always shown as 3 now (as shown on the attached screenshot), even without anything minimally graphic hungry running, I’ve tried adding the Option “RegistryDwords” “PerfLevelSrc=0x2222; PowerMizerDefaultAC=0x1” setting the PowerMizerDefaultAC to 0x1 and 0x3 and didn’t change anything. Is there any other setting that I have to change?
Does it also stay so if you disconnect one or two monitors?
Just tested, and if I disconnect one monitor (I have 3) PowerMizer shows performance level changing progressively to 0 after about 30 seconds and goes up and down if I open firefox or other application, as it was suppose to (also nvidia-smi shows a perf value changing up to P8, before it was stuck in P0).
Seems to be a know issue then, but I firmly recall this working fine up to some months ago, do you know if there is a fix in the pipeline?
I just know it’s a recurring clocking bug. Sometimes works, then breaks again.
Is there a bug tracking system that I can issue this? or does the developers follow the forum threads?
The devs are reading and sometimes responding and you can also send the bug report logs to linux-bugs[at]nvidia.com
