Preempt_RT Installation for Jetson AGX Orin

Hello NVIDIA Support Team,

I am using a Jetson AGX Orin running JetPack 6.2.1.I would like to enable the PREEMPT_RT kernel for a real-time application. Could you please advise:

  1. Whether JetPack 6.2.1 includes officially supported PREEMPT_RT packages.

  2. The recommended installation procedure for PREEMPT_RT on Jetson AGX Orin.

  3. Whether kernel recompilation is required, or if prebuilt RT kernel packages are available.

  4. Any recommended configuration or known limitations when using PREEMPT_RT on this release.

My system information is:

  • JetPack: 6.2.1

  • Jetson Linux (L4T): R36.4.7

  • Kernel: 5.15.148-tegra

Would suggest follow steps in developer guide to build RT kernel. Please check

Would suggest use later Jetpack 6.2.2 r36.5 or Jetpack 7.2 r39.2
