VGA is not supported. What it comes down to is that later connector designs (either DVI-D or DisplayPort or HDMI) added a wire (the DDC wire) capable of replying to the video card when the video card wants to automatically configure for the monitor (known as the EDID data…this substitutes for what in the VGA days was a “driver disk”). So the video has no method of knowing the stats of the monitor. The driver itself does not support non-EDID modes.
