Problem installing NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-195.36.24-pkg2.run on Ubuntu server 10.04 64 bit

We installed Ubuntu sever 10.04 on a machine with GPU cluster and tried installing nvidia driver NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-195.36.24-pkg2.
The installation of driver halts showing 100% done

Please help if any body has any suggestions…
We have been trying installing for long time… Does the Ubuntu 10.04 support NVIDIA driver?

yes im dealing with the same problem, ive messed with gcc versions and and tried to have it compile with ignoring the gcc version but it keeps failing.
also i tried installing it in recovery mode as suggested by a few.
I have not found the answer, but ill report if i do
