Problems on porting ov9281 csi camera on our carrier board

Hi @ShaneCCC
The sensor has been configed to output GRAY8 format, but gst-launch fail and no videos captured.

Not sure if v4l2src able support GRAY8,
Also from the trace log the VI driver capture data well. Could you confirm by v4l2-ctl.

v4l2-ctl --stream-mmap --stream-count=100 --set-ctrl bypass_mode=0 -d /dev/video0

Hi @ShaneCCC

This command run well no error and no images captured.
So I wonder if nvvidconv & xvimagesink support GRAY8.
Could you offer other apps to get streams.
Regars
Henry

v4l2-ctl don’t support preview.
What’s the v4l2-ctl --list-formats-ext shows?

Have a try below command.

Have a try nvv4l2camerasrc element. If still have problem I would suggest to try MMAPI /usr/src/jetson_multimedia_api/samples/12_camera_v4l2_cuda

gst-launch-1.0 nvv4l2camerasrc ! "video/x-raw(memory:NVMM), width=(int)1280, height=(int)800, format=(string)GRAY8" ! nvvidconv ! xvimagesink -e

Hi @ShaneCCC

root@t-desktop:~# gst-launch-1.0 nvv4l2camerasrc ! "video/x-raw(memory:NVMM), width=(int)1280, height=(int)800, format=(string)GRAY8" ! nvvidconv ! xvimagesink -e

OK, please checking the MMAPI for it.

Could you help provide more details on how to check MMAPI. If there is demo on forum, it will be helpful.

Get the source by below command. And check the README to compile the sample code for it.

sudo apt list -a nvidia-l4t-jetson-multimedia-api
sudo apt install nvidia-l4t-jetson-multimedia-api=32.x.x.xxxx

Hi @ShaneCCC
Run the following command:

vlc v4l2:///dev/video0

Run time video can be captured, however the image is in a mess.

Check with v4l2 dump. You can check the t.raw by 7yuv tools.

v4l2-ctl --set-fmt-video=width=1280,height=800 --set-ctrl bypass_mode=0 --stream-mmap --stream-count=1 --stream-to=t.raw -d /dev/video0

Hi @ShaneCCC
Real time video still in a mess, 7yuv no help.
We notice that these are some errors in the trace log.
