My system is centOS 64bit and I am using Tesla C2050 with cudatoolkit4.0. When I was going to compile my code, there came an error:
nvcc error: ‘ptxas’ died due to signal 9 (Kill signal)

Dying tools are always a bug, so (if you are a registered developer), the correct way to handle this would be to file a bug report. ;)
